I would imagine it is because they have fewer lawyers involved (sueing doctors) and as smaller uneducated population that don't pay taxes.

  2. xdeliriumx1:

because profit matters more than anything else in this system, human life has no value compared to MONEY.

  3. Derleiter17:

    Because common sense isn't convenient.

  4. murray1234567891011:

why dont people like this run the world why arent we lead by smart people why arent poltics concernd with comman sense

  5. Paolo7219:

Quite the axe you have to grind against Chomsky. Try to dicredit Chomsky by questioning his academic creds? You MUST be desperate. He is ridiculed at MIT? How do you know? Do you speak for the ENTIRE MIT community? HAHAHAHA

  6. teamwinstonismad:

So you can only comment on and participate in politcs if you have a degree in political science? Go and see if all the stupid talking heads at the 24hr news channels have one. Its is not Noam Chomsky that needs to shut up, its people like you: elitist and ignorant.

  7. MardiGrasMambos:

so, your idea is stupid, and resulted in these peoples misery and or death. again I want to congratulate the moronic left, congratulations.

  8. MardiGrasMambos:

no i wasnt there, my brother was though, guess what, they were warning that it would hit new orleans 5 days in advance. 5 days. my brother left 3 days before, after he was ordered. the ones who stayed, probably think like you do, that its not their job to find a way out, that the government should. so they stayed for the reasons you say they should, and yet the government failed them, since the government cant take care of everybody. its impossible.

  9. idliketosay:

...And we all know, there were *** like you during this disaster.

  10. idliketosay:

@MardiGrasMambos ...you must be a turd? i am sure you are. ***** dude, you act as though you would've grew wings and flew your lard *** out of there. let me tell you something douche, since your *** wasn't there your opinion counts for **** on what these people could've and should've done. For such a catastrophic natural disaster, it IS the duty of the govt to help their people, and to do it efficiently. It's **** like you that would resort to LOOTING and KILLING others in such a situation.

    @pollywogA1

    What does this mean —

"He is considered an a back number and also-ran. "

OK maybe the faculty at MIT playfully jib at him for having a «second career» as the voice of the left and most prolific author of a generation, but to act like he is not a genius just makes you look folish...

are you kidding when you say that «He is not a political scientist nor an economist.» Even famed conservative William Buckley claims he is the voice of the new left!!!!

    Why should he shut up?

  12. mrktwn:

Given the same kind of «liberal policies» in Germany, for instance, why is it they have a better health care system?

  13. pollywogA1:

@tonybonez On the contrary. At a Chomsky seminar presemptuously entitled «An Evening with Chomsky» held at the Kresge Auditorium at MIT, he was ridiculed by MIT people. Students from India heckled him constantly and he is ridiculed for having «a second career» at MIT. He is considered an a back number and also-ran.

  14. tonybonez:

I doubt that he is ridiculed----he is the most quoted person alive on earth right now, for goodness sake!

  15. MardiGrasMambos:

He sure is good at riling up the libs though, too bad none of them know what its like to live under the socialism he promotes.

  16. pollywogA1:

«Most» Americans? Chomsky doesn't speak for 'ANY' Americans, he is not an elected representative. He needs to stop generalizing and promulgating his socialist (now anarchist?) agenda. Chomsky only has a Phd in Anthropology and specialized in linguistics. He is ridiculed at MIT for having a «second career». He is not a political scientist nor an economist. SHUT UP CHOMSKY!

  17. TuMira85:

i dont give a **** what this dude says but his voice is like warm butter in my ears

  18. MardiGrasMambos:

Those people who died there, did so because of your stupid ideals. They sat there and waited, because your moronic policies and governmental programs designed to appease your personal guilt about poor peoples plight prevents them from believing or understanding they can do a better job taking care of themselves. Instead they expect transportation and city agencies to take care of them. Welfare and liberalism is currently destroying the African American and poor community. Congratulations.

  19. MardiGrasMambos:

    Had no way out why?

  20. ontheearthproduction:

the people who were trapped in New Orleans and died, had no way out. No transportation and city agencies did not get moving fast enough. The government you want already exists. It's a pity, humanity can do better.

  21. MardiGrasMambos:

They are unhealthy because they don't take care of themselves, because they think its the governments job, because you idiots make them believe that. We saw it in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina. They stayed there because they dont understand how to take care of themselves. Liberalism is a disease. You guys perpetuate and defend it because you are stupid.

  22. MardiGrasMambos:

I don't accept your premise that we have lower quality, please prove it. I have a complicated point about the affects of liberal policies in general, and how that has driven down the overall health of a huge portion of our population, which skews our quality down. Unfortunately its easy for morons like you to say our healthcare is poor, then cite statistics drastically distorted by low income and welfare families living a lifestyle directly resulting from your own policies.

  23. MardiGrasMambos:

Thats just the tip of the iceberg and a perfect example of what happens when government attempts to fix things. And yes, the FDA necessarily drives up the cost of drugs. For the reasons I cited.

  24. eirefrance:

Yes, what is constructive about ignorant accusations? Please explain to me why health costs everywhere else in the world are lower than ours (even, GASP!!!!, in countries with national health systems), yet we have lower health care. And you want to blame govt involvement for the high price of drugs?

  25. MardiGrasMambos:

Whats constructive about ignorant accusations? Please explain to me how the FDA has not added to the expense of pharmaceuticals for which we all suffer. Chomsky himself talks about the enormous costs of drugs. The FDA destroys competition by creating a huge barrier to entry, creates a monstrous bureaucratic process which forces drug companies into literally decades of investment and studies in order to bring a drug to market. And you want to blame corporate greed for the high price of drugs?
