Unless you want to go off the deep end and claim that all taxation is theft, your argument amounts to nothing but some vague talking point that doesn't really say anything. People in «socialist» countries are just as free to become wealthy as they are in America. Actually, no, that's wrong: they're *more* free because they afford citizens at the «bottom» more opportunities to get an education and worthwhile experience.
Bill Moyers is very independent and has always been that way. There are instances in which his perspectives and opinions do become mainstream or become those of particular political parties. But he has always stood his own ground and doesn't hesitate to criticize any administration no matter which party they represent.

@SHSH1212 the American value is individualism which is the protection of life, liberty and property. Please read the Declaration of Independence. Socialism is anti American since the pre-eminent value is the «group» over the individual. Liberalism (socialism) is an attack on this value of individualism and anti-American.
I use think Moyers was a balanced, reasoned man. I think it is clear he has lost his mind. He is the thing he hates. The right to life, liberty and property is American and stealing it from your fellow citizens is anything but American. I no longer support PBS and canceled the LA Times. I guess I am a blood dripping, gun-toting ****** except I don't own a gun and my wife is half black.
THE current bill is not the answer ,,,does not address proper Tort Reform, «undocumented» access for expensive non-life threatening HC , & does not probide MOST IMPORTANTLY an OPT OUT Provision for those that believe it is still too bloated with waste & inefficiencies resulting in inflated premiums not in keeping with services provided.
...A mandate stuffed inside a trojan horse bill for HC is a skunk in the road...too stupid to debate...

Many of these comments are the VERY example of the partisan, **** and name calling that Moyers just spoke of.
There are problems and good in both parties. I voted Reagan, but have noticed the right wing conservatives have become the very thing Moyers talks about. The Conservatives who are willing to work across the aisle for the people, and not lower to insults and attacks to take back their party.
The LW Dems are the ones that want to discard the old & infirmed with the HC bill...

I agree these could be run better privately. Look at government schools. Even Obama wouldn't send his kids to public school. They are dangerous and poor quality. This despite the fact that the cost to tax payers is high
the percentage of people who think Moyers is anti-America is tiny — don't pay attention to these people — they are greasy wheels with little education — rarely read and are simple minded klu klax klan types...
Bill Moyers = a voice of reason. Here's an idea — let's stop all the wars in the Middle East. Just a FRACTION of that money would give us this other option to private insurance which many people so deparately need.
